Edward Francis Tuckerman III (February 13, 1775 – May 29, 1843) was a merchant based in Boston, Massachusetts. He initially apprenticed under his brother-in-law, Worcester hardware merchant Stephen Salisbury, before establishing his own mercantile career. Tuckerman married Sophia May, and their children included the prominent botanist Edward Tuckerman (1817–1886) and Frederick Goddard Tuckerman. He belonged to a well-connected New England family; his siblings included the Unitarian minister and reformer Joseph Tuckerman and fellow merchant Gustavus Tuckerman. Following his death in Boston at the age of 68, he was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
