Born in Delaware County, she married Robert Harpur Jr. (1793–1872), a farmer and the son of prominent New York statesman and landowner Robert Harpur Sr. According to the 1855 state census, Pamelia and her husband relocated to Broome County around 1836. Together they raised at least seven children: sons Robert G. and Edward, and daughters Myra, Sarah, Anna, and two additional daughters who later married into the Whitney and Bryant families.
